Special issue of Annali di Botanica
Annali di Botanica dates to 1884 when Pietro Romualdo Pirotta, Professor in Botany at the University of Rome, founded the Journal under the name "Annuario del Regio Istituto Botanico di Roma" (1885-1901), which was later changed in 1902 to its present name.
Annali di Botanica satisfies the need for a multidisciplinary approach in the study of the Global Change effects on plant biodiversity, thus stimulating novel contributions in the field of land use change and ecosystem services researches.
The Journal is gold open access and publishes peer-reviewed papers.
In occasion of Eurogarden10 - 10° EUROPEAN BOTANIC GARDENS CONGRESS, Botanic Gardens in the decade of ecosystem restoration. September 22 - 26, 2025, Rome, Italy the journal Annali di Botanica will publish a Special Issue dedicated to the main topic of the Congress.
Articles dealing with the main conference topics will be given priority:
- BOTANIC GARDENS' ROLE IN PLANT CONSERVATION AND ECOSYSTEM RESTORATION
- BOTANIC GARDENS: POLICIES AND STANDARDS
- NETWORKING, SOCIETY, PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT AND EDUCATION BY BOTANIC GARDENS
- BOTANIC GARDENS AND NEW TECHNOLOGIES
All manuscripts submitted for the Special Issue will go through the standard peer review processes of the journal.
